Resolved Question: how do I look for a place for my reception(HELP!!!)?

I am getting married in july 2009 and I have no idea where to go and look for a place for the reception. we don't have a lot of money and all the parties we have gone to are in hotels or at their house...No one I know knows about any places how do i figure this out...I know there is places that rent a little hall for like $1,000-$2,500 because I have heard of people doing it.How do people find these places...I live in santa barbara but I am getting married in Oxnard, CA 93033...I you know of any places please let me know...I need help ASAP...
